Why this one
- Your time is a cost, not what is left overThe hourly rate starts at the real Living Wage for the UK, £14.10, with the London rate and the National Living Wage beside it. Change it to your own.
- Every Etsy UK fee, not just the 6.5%Listing, transaction, the UK processing rate of 4% + £0.20, the 0.48% regulatory operating fee and VAT on the fees when Etsy has no VAT ID for you.
- An Etsy price that still pays youThe lowest price that leaves you the profit of a retail sale and your target margin after the fees and the postage, rounded up to .99 or the next 50p.
- Your prices now, checkedType what you charge today and each product says On target, Under target margin or Priced below cost.
- Delivery counted in your materialsThe cost per unit includes the delivery you paid on the pack, so the price of a jar or a gram is the real one.
How it works
- Set your rateOn Settings: your hourly rate, your monthly overheads and how many items you make a month
- List your materialsOn Materials, each one once with the pack price, delivery and quantity
- Cost each productOn Product costing, its minutes and the materials it uses. The prices, margin and status appear, and the Dashboard fills in
Who it is for
UK makers selling on Etsy, at fairs or from their own website: candles, jewellery, crochet, prints, soap, ceramics and anything else made by hand, from a first shop to a busy one. Margin means the share of the price you keep as profit once every cost and fee is paid. Most small makers are not VAT registered. If you are, there is a switch for it on Settings.
Questions
Do I need Microsoft Excel?
No. It comes with a Google Sheets version, which is free with a Google account. The Excel file also opens in the free web version of Excel.
How do I get it?
Straight after payment it is in your library on this site: the Excel file with the price list inside, the PDF guide and the Open me first page with the Google Sheets button.
I do not sell on Etsy. Is it still for me?
Yes. Fees by platform shows the same product on your own website, in person and wholesale too, every fee on its own line and what you keep from each.
What if Etsy changes a fee?
Every fee is a cell on Settings with its source. Type the new rate and every price updates.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is a pricing tool to help you work out your own prices, not tax or financial advice, and no promise of sales or profit.

Made by Izhar Shah. I built a brand in the evenings alongside a full-time engineering job, and in its first twelve months it passed £500,000 in sales. I make the sheets I wish I had when I started.
