Frequently Asked Questions
Over the years, I've spoken with hundreds of professionals who are ready for more, more income, more freedom, and more control over their future. These are the questions they ask most often.
01 About the Newsletter
What is The Parallel Operator?
A weekly newsletter for professionals building parallel income alongside their job. Each issue is one actionable framework, delivered every Monday in roughly five minutes of reading time.
The longer story behind it is on the About page.
What is "parallel income"?
Income that runs alongside your salary, not instead of it. It can be a product, a service, a small business, or a piece of intellectual property, anything that earns separately from your employer.
The deeper breakdown is in What is parallel income, and why it matters now.
How often will I receive emails?
One email per week, every Monday. No bonus broadcasts, no "promotional sequences," no surprise launches. Just the Monday issue.
When does the first issue land?
1st June 2026. If you subscribe before then, you'll be there from issue #1.
Is it really free?
Yes, free forever. No paid tier, no spam emails, no "premium subscriber" mode. If that ever changes, current subscribers will be told well in advance.
What topics are covered?
Can I unsubscribe anytime?
Yes. One click at the bottom of any email. No "are you sure?" pop-ups, no questions asked.
Will the newsletter ever sell me anything?
The free Monday newsletter is the heart of this, and every issue is built to be useful on its own, not a thinly disguised pitch.
That said, I'm building paid resources alongside it: a comprehensive set of learning researces and training programmes. When those launch, subscribers will hear about them, clearly and briefly.
What you won't see: daily upsell sequences, urgency tactics, hidden affiliate links, or promotions that don't fit the audience. The newsletter is here to be useful first. Everything else is downstream of that.
02 About the Approach
How is this different from "side hustle" content?
Most "side hustle" content optimises for fast cash and burnout. This newsletter optimises for deliberate, sustainable income that compounds, built while you still have the safety of a salary, and capable of replacing it when you choose.
The core philosophy: Build first. Leave second. Choose third. The About page goes deeper.
Do I need to quit my job to build parallel income?
No, and the framework specifically argues against quitting first. Most readers build for 6–18 months before the leaving question even becomes relevant. The point is to have built enough that leaving becomes a choice, not a leap of faith.
Can I really build income while working full-time?
Yes, that's the entire premise of the newsletter. I built the foundation of a £500k e-commerce business while still in a £60k full-time job. Full timeline on the About page.
The newsletter teaches the same frameworks, week by week.
What if I don't have a business idea yet?
Most readers don't when they start. The newsletter covers idea-generation, validation, and how to find opportunities that match your existing skills before committing to building anything.
A good starting point: Monetising skills: turn professional experience into income.
Is this for beginners or experienced people?
Both. The frameworks scale: a beginner uses them to make their first move; an experienced operator uses them to systematise what they're already doing.
The shared trait isn't skill level — it's deliberateness.
How long before I see results?
Honest answer: longer than hype-driven content suggests. The business behind this newsletter took six months of foundation work before launch, and twelve months from launch to £500k.
Most readers' first parallel income takes several months to show up. The work compounds after that.
03 About Izhar
Who is Izhar Shah?
A professional who built a parallel income stream while still employed, growing a direct-to-consumer kitchen brand to £500k in revenue within 12 months of launch, without external funding. Now writes for other professionals doing the same.
Full background on the About page.
Is the £500k claim real?
Yes. Twelve months of trading revenue from a single brand, launched March 2025, reaching £500k by March 2026. Built without investors, loans, or co-founders.
The timeline and supporting numbers are on the home page and About page.
Why did you start the newsletter?
To document the frameworks while they're fresh and useful, not five years later in retrospect. Every issue is something I'm either currently using or have recently used.
Less theory. More working knowledge.
04 Coaching, Partnerships & Press
Do you offer 1:1 coaching?
Occasionally, for a small number of professionals each year. Mention "Coaching" on the contact form if you'd like to be considered. Not a primary service.
Do you accept partnerships or sponsorships?
Yes for podcasts and partnerships, drop a note on the contact page with your company name, website, and a short outline.
Newsletter sponsorships will open once the subscriber base is at scale.
Do you do podcasts or speaking?
Yes. Send the details via the contact page: date, audience, format, and topic angle. I review all enquiries and reply when there's a fit.
05 Privacy & Support
What do you do with my email address?
Use it to send the Monday newsletter, and nothing else. Your email isn't sold, shared, or rented, ever.
Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Where are you based?
The United Kingdom. The newsletter complies with UK GDPR and the broader EU GDPR standards.
I'm not receiving the newsletter — what should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder and mark the email as "Not Spam." If it's still missing, send a message with the email address you subscribed under and I'll look into it.
Can I change my email address?
Yes, either unsubscribe the old address and resubscribe with the new one, or message me and I'll handle the swap manually.
How do I get in touch for anything else?
The contact page covers every kind of enquiry — partnerships, coaching, support, or general questions. Every message is read personally.
